People are struggling to believe this Brexit protester’s sheer cluelessness
The March to Leave ended with a gathering at Westminster on the 29th of March, the day that was meant to be Brexit Day. It must have been a bitter-sweet moment for the protesters; on the one hand, they’d expected to leave and hadn’t, but on the plus side, there were more than 70 of them so they must have been quite pleased. One of the protesters, however, displayed a level of ignorance about the EU that had people wondering whether she was performing street theatre. Her rant is definitely NSFW.
“I didn’t even know we were part the fucking EU, for God’s sake, until we were leaving it… Now it all makes sense. All the children have been being raped for that many years, because of the EU.”
Some people at the Leave Means Leave protest were, to be polite, not quite right. pic.twitter.com/2obT7qQwIK

Some are saying ‘this has to be staged’. Trust me, it wasn’t. She was shouting at police (who were being very tolerant), accusing them of protecting paedophiles and all sorts.
There’s staged – like handing May a P45 at the Tory conference – then there’s full-on conspiracy BS. pic.twitter.com/mNppwGIeUv

I said to a couple of police officers, “I hope for your sanity that she didn’t bring spare batteries for that megaphone.” One of them replied, “We’re praying.”

Someone thought they may have heard her before.
I wonder if this is the woman who phoned Any Answers to say the EU and feminism had caused the rise in knife crime in the East End.

Others saw the irony of her admission.
And who said some people didn't know what they were voting for? https://t.co/XVJzXK3iLv
— Becky Barrow (@beckymbarrow) March 30, 2019
Bet they all knew what they voted for though. Of course this is extreme but – there are people who believe this shit. And they were deliberately and illegally manipulated into doing so by a campaign of dirty tricks of the worst kind. https://t.co/yKPTNcyTcm

But she knew what she was voting for! Even tho she somehow DIDN'T F*CKING KNOW we were part of the EU, until we were leaving it.
I bet she understands clearly the customs union, WTO rules, the backstop. But she didn't know we were part of the EU until we were leaving it! ♂️

Her rant wasn’t a good look for Leave.
The will of these fucking people. https://t.co/tmvBJAmEz0

I can’t believe this country is debating whether we should leave the eu for the sake of people like her #sorrynotsorry

But, really, it was simply tragic.
I wish this were parody https://t.co/Dj5ye8drvo

This is both exasperating and tragic. The UK deserves its current predicament and should learn something profound from it: this is what we get from decades of politics and policy that marginalises the poor and benefits the rich. https://t.co/v0m0QAXywn

Twitter user Marc Browne accidentally spoke for many people when he said this.
I have decided this is staged. More for my own sanity than for anything else.
— Marc Browne (@Marcabrowne) March 30, 2019
If that helps, fair play. Last thing we need is more insane people.
