A pro-Brexit Facebook group had a meltdown when their poll didn’t go to plan

There is a whole world of weird and wonderful stuff on Facebook, where it’s easy for users to set up a page to celebrate their niche hobbies or bizarre political affiliations, much like the page Britain Bites Back, which is a pro-Brexit group for angry people – apparently. They recently ran a poll to check by how great a margin Leave would win if the referendum were to be run again, and that was their first mistake.

That sure showed those pesky petition signers how pointless they are. Obviously, they weren’t very happy about the result and wanted to do something about it, but what they decided to do was flap in the comments and make an absolute show of themselves, like this:

Yeah, Tegan – you can’t go leaving people’s opinion polls lying around where anyone can see they have the wrong opinion.

This being an open group, some of the comments were less than sympathetic, such as:

“Quick delete it, this heavily disproves our preconceived notions and we don’t want to look like totally stupid gammons”

“You had one job Tegan! One f***ing job.”

Britain Bites Back decided to bite back, with a second poll. FFS, what did they hope to do? Keep on re-running it until they get the result they want? Anyway, it went really well …

After the Metro spotted this catastrophe and reported on it, the page’s moderators had the mother of all hissy fits.

Facebook user, Dan Rooke, wasn’t convinced.

You know what? They lost – they should just get over it.
