A female fire chief has said Fireman Sam is sexist – 12+ fiery takes
Perennial children’s favourite, Fireman Sam, has been at the centre of something of a Twitter storm after a female fire chief criticised the image he portrays of the fire service. Senior fire officer, Alex Johnson, criticised Sam, as well as other screen portrayals of the job, saying:
“Women and people from different ethnic backgrounds are simply not considering being a firefighter because they are not seeing themselves represented.”
After the issue was discussed on Good Morning Britain, presenter Piers Morgan had this to say.
