If you thought the BBC News theme was just someone playing a synth, think again
It’s the most recognisable theme tune on the telly – the music that tells you that BBC News is about to begin and confirmation that, yep, the world’s still going to hell in a handcart.
But here’s something to lift your spirits while you await the next bunch of doomladen headlines. The music hasn’t been put together by someone in a garage with a synth. It’s done like this!
If you watch BBC News you’ll be familiar with this signature tune.. I was awed to find out how much work and effort it took to make that sound I hear before I go on air! pic.twitter.com/2AXGdcnhwJ

The fact that everyone assumes it’s been done on a synthesiser does make us wonder if the whole thing was worthwhile but… anyway, here’s what people had to say about it.
I dont know why i found myself wiping tears when i was watching this…this is so beautiful..

But here’s our favourite.
Furious that our license fee is going to pay this lot for playing this every day. https://t.co/xm5usvtRUB
