Swiss David Davis proves that Brexit is just one massive Fast Show sketch

When LBC presenter, James O’Brien, noticed that David Davis had an air of Fast Show character, Swiss Toni, he called on Charlie Higson, the actor behind the sleazy car salesman, to recreate the role as the former Brexit Secretary and he obliged – which was nice.

It being for a radio show, it’s audio only, but the accompanying photo helps the imagination along.

“Negotiating with the EU is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Nobody ever pretended that it would be easy.”

Except quite a few of them said exactly that.

Liam Fox: The free trade agreement that we will have to do with the European Union will be one of the easiest in human history.

Paul Nuttall: It will be easy to negotiate a trade deal, and of course, it’s in the European Union’s interest, just as it is in ours.

John Redwood: Getting out of the EU can be quick and easy.

I’nt arrogance brilliant!

This week, the Brexiters have mostly been pretending that Theresa May can get an amendment to her deal even though the EU has categorically stated that they are no longer in negotiations. It’s almost as though they don’t know what they’re doing.
