Watch what happens when you crack an egg in massively sub-zero temperatures

Every time there’s a heatwave, some hapless journalist is sent into the blazing sunshine to crack an egg on a pavement or the bonnet of a car, usually resulting in gross egg-snot all over the pavement or the bonnet of a car. Don’t even pretend it’s anything other than snot. Now, a YouTube account, dedicated to showing us how cold it is in Minnesota, has tried the egg test in 27 degrees below zero, and it’s really cool – see what I did there?

It may not be as dynamic as the boiling water tests, but it’s a hot take on a cold topic.

YouTube users enjoyed the experiment.

There were requests.

However, one commenter wondered whether it was in any way necessary.

They have a point, but we wouldn’t have wanted to miss out.
