The Question Time audience cheered a ‘no deal’ Brexit and people can’t believe it
It was Fiona Bruce’s second time in the Question Time presenter’s chair but this week it wasn’t any of the panellists that caught people’s attention.
It was the audience. Well, a large part of the audience in Derby, who did this when greeted with the prospect of a ‘no deal’ Brexit by writer and former Sunday Times political editor, Isabel Oakeshott.
Well we survived WW2 so surely we can survive No Deal, right everyone?
Here’s our favourite thread, in which journalist Hugo Rifkind (and lots of other people) put both sides of the argument.

The Question Time audience cheering the idea of no deal is just a staggering, terrifying thing. They're not even cheering the threat of it, but that actual outcome. What do they think is happening here? We're so fucked.

Some of us are terrified by what a second ref would unleash Hugo. TM’s Deal was last, best hope to minimise risk

So am I! There are no good outcomes at this stage. Even remaining in the EU would now be incomparably worse than the old status quo. So well done with that, everybody. It’s now a balance of bad choices.

You should try having a wander outside the London bubble for once. The audience are more in tune with the country than you’d like to think

Jesus, what is wrong with you? So what? The point isn’t what people *think* inside London or out of it. The point is the relationship between what they think and reality.

I love the shock! Its almost as if no one ever left London to see just how much sh*t the rest of the country has been dealt

This is so stupid. They’re cheering dealing the shit to themselves. I’m shocked at them stabbing themselves in the head.
