Gary Lineker accused Piers Morgan of ‘faux outrage’ and he didn’t like it. He didn’t like it at all
Gary Lineker and Piers Morgan have a long history of taking chunks – well, mostly nibbles – out of each other on Twitter.
After Morgan found himself in the spotlight – first over those vegan sausage rolls, then that Gillette #metoo advert – Lineker was moved to offer up some praise. Of sorts.
Got to give you credit @piersmorgan, you really do know how to get yourself talked about. Pretend to be outraged by something, someone, anything, that in reality you don’t give two hoots about, then watch them come for you. You’ll claim otherwise, of course. You do it well.

And it’s fair to say that Morgan didn’t like it. He didn’t like it at all. And this is how it went …
Says the man who has screamed faux outrage about Brexit for two years! Priceless. 🤣🤣 https://t.co/fHhJF8qpJD

I genuinely care about one of the most important issues facing our country, yes. You, on the other hand, don’t give a monkey’s about razor commercials, vegan sausages or most of the other unimportant stuff you rant endlessly about. Take the compliment. You’re a master at it. 👏👏 https://t.co/rBDgGKy8lh

Mate, you flog crisps to kids when Britain has the worst child obesity rates in Europe, and flog them in plastic bags that destroy the planet.
And on Brexit, you’re trying to kill democracy. So maybe give the halo act a rest – doesn’t wash with me. https://t.co/zgODziev1K— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 15, 2019

Maybe Morgan was irritated after Lineker said this about people upset by the Gillette ad.
Lot of snowflakes on here getting upset by a commercial. Just man-up and have a shave.

Lots of snowflakes on here getting wound up by a referendum. Just man-up and accept the result. https://t.co/GTjvgty6TS

We’ll call that a score draw. Probably.
