Netflix warned people not to do the ‘Bird Box challenge’ – our favourite 11 responses
It may say something about the world we live in that Netflix felt compelled to issue a warning urging people not to walk around blindfolded like Sandra Bullock’s character in its hit movie, Bird Box.
Lots of people have been taking up the ‘Bird Box challenge’, in which they try to do everyday things while blindfolded, emulating characters in the film who have to cover up their eyes to save themselves from supernatural forces.
Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.

Along with a general sense of disbelief that people really were doing this, it also prompted lots of very funny replies, of which these are the best.

“Blindfold yourself and cross the road.”
“No, dude, that’s dangerous.”
“Bird Box challenge!”
“Hell yea I’m in!!” pic.twitter.com/M3454yTCzK— 9GAG (@9GAG) January 3, 2019

It’s not a challenge.
It’s natural selection in action.
Let nature do its work.

It’s flabbergasting that people willingly hurt themselves for fake internet points. I long for the days of yore—a simpler time—where we could all sit down and share a nutritious Tide Pod in peace. https://t.co/SgEHfDXL1z

Maybe @netflix should make a movie about reading and see if people do that challenge also.
