Omid Djalili shared this ‘scene of modern Britain’ and it went viral all over again
Here’s comedian Omid Djalili sharing this ‘scene of modern Britain’ played out on a rail replacement bus service in Newport.
The story, which you might have read before, went viral all over again, partly because it says a lot about the times we live in, but mostly because it’s such a satisfying comeback we all wish we’d been there to see it.

Although, with a grim sense of inevitability, not everyone appreciated it.
Didn't happen.

Hi Omid,
I live in the area mentioned in the article.
1. Newport has around 140,000 people in the area.
2. Only 12% of those have basic understanding of Welsh.
3. Of that percentage only 9% are adults.I find this story bullshit.#NeverHappened

itโs an answer, thank you. But Syrians learning Welsh is a fact so mathematically part of the 9% could be them

We’re with this person.
Yes – "unlikely" is NOT the same as "impossible". Thanks for sharing the image. And true or not, why the hell shouldn't people be able to speak to each other in any language they please? As long as both parties in the conversation understand the language, where's the problem?
