Someone tried to mansplain cooking to Nigella and she gave him the chop
There’s no shortage of men prepared to pop into a woman’s mentions to tell her she’s doing something wrong, but you’d think they might pause a little before mansplaining a female expert’s own field to her. Well, you’d be wrong, as this little exchange shows.
TV chef, Nigella Lawson, tweeted her plans for this Christmas ham.
8 kilos of ham and 1 tin of black treacle going into the oven for 24 hours now! I do have a recipe, coming up for #RecipeOfTheDay on Monday (though for a smaller joint of ham) and I’ll give it to you now too https://t.co/ax5qT2Gjid pic.twitter.com/1jPY9RmQhy

Up popped cookery expert mansplainer, Tom Smith, with a correction.
Love this but….Surely you mean the fridge for 24hours. https://t.co/KadM1X7saA

He got this reply.
The fridge wouldn’t do a very good job of cooking it!

Most people would have left it at that, but not Tom.
Sorry … I will give this a go. Could not believe the length of time in oven, …low temperature!?🙄🐖⏳🍙🌖🌔 https://t.co/9fUbPH4m9G

Someone captured a screenshot of this peak mansplaining.
Lord, this Christmas grant me the confidence of a man telling a world famous cook how to bake a ham. pic.twitter.com/t8jszTyBn2

It got some funny reactions.
Very ham-handed! He may have forgotten how she brings home the bacon!

I'm so concerned by "Love this, but…". Is he suggesting he *loves* a cold, uncooked 8 kilos of ham with an entire tin of black treacle upturned on it? This man must be stopped.

One Twitter user pointed out that it wasn’t mansplaining at all, it was …
Hamsplaining

Congratulations, @c-bartle, you’ve levelled up on Twitter.
