Liz Truss on drones may be the most stupid thing the government has said this year
She left it late in a very crowded field (populated not infrequently by herself) but Liz Truss, Tory MP and chief secretary to the Treasury, may just have won the most stupid thing said by the government this year.

Well, she might not win it, but it’s certainly the best we’ve seen this week. Do let us know if you’ve seen better in the comments.
Dominic Raab: I have said the dumbest thing a Tory has ever said on camera

She always has this little glitch/pause before saying something spectacularly stupid. We need a showreel of them. Can someone produce such a thing as a Christmas present to the nation?

It's beautiful. It's like she knows she's about to say something that'll haunt her for years, but can't think of a single other normal sentence to say next.
