People are raving over Google’s new “Home Alone” ad with Macaulay Culkin – the only 7 reactions you need to read
The 1990 comedy Home Alone is a staple of the Christmas holiday TV schedule, featuring precocious 8-year-old, Kevin, accidentally left home alone – it does what it says on the tin – and forced to fend off a home invasion by violent criminals. We know – wholesome or what?
Tech giant, Google, has played a little bit of a blinder by recreating some of the action from the original for its latest advert for Google Assistant, starring the original Kevin, Macaulay Culkin, only this time, he’s an adult and he has kick-ass technology to do the hard work.
“Kevin” tweeted this.
#heygoogle Have you ever wondered what Kevin McCallister is like as an adult? Me neither. But just in case you’re curious you should totally watch this #ad pic.twitter.com/uO9qMPrUT3

If you thought it was all merely adulation, comedian Amanda Brooke Perrin showed that the advert also fulfilled its primary purpose.
AS A PERSON WHO CRINGES EVERY TIME THEY WATCH THE PART IN HOME ALONE WHERE KEVIN DOESN'T EAT THE MAC AND CHEESE, I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW SATISFYING THIS IS. I MIGHT EVEN BUY A GOOGLE THING CAUSE OF THIS. https://t.co/p8xkig6RG4
