A Brexiter complained about having to pay for EU travel and got totally owned – the 14 hottest burns
Lord Digby Jones may be a crossbencher in the House of Lords, but he’s firmly in the Brexit camp. When he heard the news that UK citizens will be charged €7 to travel to the EU, he was most unhappy, prompting him to post this snarky comment.
So the EU are going to charge Brits €7 to travel to Member States after Brexit. Just a thought…….did any of them want to charge my Great-uncle Thomas in 1917 or my wife’s Dad or uncle in 1944?

He wasn’t finished – he had this to add.
And the Remainers want a 2nd Referendum to get us to stay with this load of bullies do they?!

Unfortunately for Lord Jones, his stance turned out to be more than a little hypocritical, as one of his past tweets showed.
So to be single market we have to accept free movement of labour do we? Er..no! Just tell 'em no! …

That’s not the kind of thing that goes unnoticed over on Twitter, and the takedowns poured in.

lord Digsby, stomping into a Patisserie Valerie & loudly demanding a free croissant because his wife's uncle was in a war.

Pathetic – quite apart from the fact that it is us, not them, wanting to end free movement. https://t.co/sAxkBj9HP0

This exposes the corrosive mindset of many behind Brexit – still fighting wars of the past, obsessed by British exceptionalism & oblivious to reasons for EU creation as a vehicle to bring countries closer together. Disgraceful, even for this ennobled buffoon https://t.co/Y3m3M19oYG

This is over seven months old (and needs a little revision re the ‘EVERY TIME’) but Digby Jones still doesn’t understand any of it. Needless to say, the pointless, pusillanimous pudding of a man is still a regular on Brexit ‘debates’. https://t.co/YQOHcdPmo4
