This cringeworthy 52 seconds of The Apprentice must be a contender for the best TV moment of 2018

Candidate Daniel Elahi was clearly surprised that the show’s production team had done its homework, and got a lesson in why he should have done his. It’s bad enough being caught out in a lie, but it has to be worse being caught out in a lie on national television.
The clip has had a mini resurgence since Benjamin Cutting‘s tweet was posted, picking up over a million views and more than 600 comments, including these observations.

There’s a lesson to be learnt here – it’s either “Honesty is the best policy” or “Don’t get caught” – definitely one of the two.
