Madonna taking down this interviewer about sexuality and censorship is a very satisfying watch
This clip of Madonna taking down a TV interviewer over her slightly saucy/shockingly sexually explicit (delete according to taste) video for Justify My Love in 1990 has gone viral all over again because it’s just so great.
She really paved the way for our faves huh pic.twitter.com/7cO40RnyKo

And it’s as relevant today as it was then.
Asked if MTV should have a ‘designated time’ for adult content, she replies:
‘I think MTV should have their violence hour and I think they should have their degradation to women hour
‘If we’re going to have censorship, let’s not be hypocrites about it. Let’s not have double standards. We already have these videos that have violence and show degradation to women being shown 24 hours a day, but yet they don’t want a video playing that deals with sex between two consenting adults.’
Boom!
Ugh Queen, never afraid to tell people the truth in their ugly faces

Without doubt she took the backlash and didn't give a shit! She wasn't scared or afraid to push boundaries incase it affected her career! This is why @Madonna is a true icon and fucking legend! She paved the way.

To be filed under ‘never gets old’. A bit like Madonna.
