This hilariously awkward interview with 2 bickering Tory MPs tells you all you need to know about politics right now
If ever anything summed up the state of the nation’s politics right now, then it is surely this BBC TV interview with fellow Tory MPs, James Cleverly and Andrew Bridgen.
It’s so awkward we can’t stop watching it.
This exchange between @vicderbyshire, James Cleverly and Andrew Bridgen is REALLY QUITE SOMETHING. pic.twitter.com/7hiYZFS9Uv

Here’s what presenter Victoria Derbyshire had to say.
‘I’m going to bring in your colleague James Cleverly, he’s a Conservative MP. He’s vice-chair of the Conservative Party. I gather that you don’t necessarily want to talk to each other. Are you happy to?’
Except not only was Andrew Bridgen not happy to talk to Cleverly, it looks like he can’t even bring himself to look at him.
In case you’re wondering, Bridgen will be backing today’s vote of no confidence in May, while Cleverly is a supporter of the prime minister.
This is so bum-squeezingly awkward and yet I can't stop watching it.

In politics as in life, there are bellwethers – people who provide a good guide to what one should or shouldn’t do. Andrew Bridgen is one such. In all circumstances I try to precisely the opposite of what he recommends. https://t.co/dfKJup8tUA

Bridgen is at least principled, unlike @JamesCleverley
