Richard Osman’s brilliant Christmas playlist isn’t as random as it seems
We’ve become very used to seeing comedy gold on comedian, producer and presenter Richard Osman‘s Twitter account, but some people may have been disappointed when he recently shared his Spotify Christmas playlist, which seemed neither funny nor festive – at first glance.

He followed it up with this tweet.
When I tweeted this earlier, there quite were a few people who took it at face value. I know ‘that’s Twitter’ but it made me feel a bit guilty. I’ve only ever heard 3 of these songs. For those people, just say all the song titles out loud in order, and I wish you a good evening.

That’s right – he Mariah-rolled us. Naturally, people loved what he’d done.

I genuinely thought making 9000 episodes of #pointless a year would keep Richard busy enough, but this is absolutely smashing. https://t.co/HdRQIvESPF

Writer and critic, Peter Bradshaw, summed up the situation perfectly.
The word "genius" is used too casually nowadays but in this case… https://t.co/5bn0JpiT4z
