Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker have been feuding again and you can probably guess how it ended up
Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker have been feuding again on Twitter and it’s always (well, mostly) an entertaining watch.
Today’s episode of ‘we follow them on Twitter so you don’t have to’ began when the Match of the Day man watched this and wondered aloud why it was okay to lie in politics when it’s trickier to get away with it elsewhere in life.
The chairman of Leave Means Leave thinks that if the UK pound is literally worth less, that will help those on low wages. MATHS PEOPLE. MATHS!!!
He then shared some more fake news… pic.twitter.com/hwuOuloDhH— Femi (@Femi_Sorry) December 4, 2018
Here’s what Lineker had to say.
Why is it ok to just lie in politics? For example: There are high standards in advertising. You can’t say stuff about a product that is blatantly untrue. Eg: Crisps make you score more goals. You’d have to prove that to be true. Yet in politics you can spout any old nonsense. 🤷🏻♂️ https://t.co/VOIDn39qVz

OK, Mr Straight-Talker:
Q. Are crisps beneficial to children’s health? https://t.co/PL95aJYBut— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 5, 2018

You’re avoiding my question, like a good politician. Let me try it another way: you’re very concerned about the impact of Brexit on our health and our children, so I’m curious how that sits with flogging crisps… https://t.co/MihRj0TATn

Sits fine, thanks. They’re lovely British grown potatoes. We all deserve a treat…. You’re so PC these days. Grab yourself a packet of cheese & onion and chill. https://t.co/Hoawpg4Cs2

Sits fine with Britain’s kids having worst obesity in Europe? What a treat for the NHS when it has to pick up the cost of that later… wonder if it will be £350m-a-week? https://t.co/M6a5YLOaQX

Crisps, chocolate, sweets, meat etc. are consumed in every country. Obesity issues here are largely down to the lack of exercise these days. Phones, computers, console games etc. with kids sitting on their backsides. Exacerbated by the selling of school playing fields. https://t.co/q96Uw9z2jZ

This from the person that mocks and attacks vegans on twitter: https://t.co/s2UM7yAzug

I mock radical vegans who want the rest of us to stop eating meat, yes. Do you disagree? Or are you a strictly kale-and-crisps health nut? https://t.co/4T9hHLwPHO

As you ask, I love meat, but am trying to cut down as they have a point. The consumption of beef in particular is clearly damaging our planet. https://t.co/F5VE0lPonL

Crisp packets aren’t a major contribution to the planet’s survival either… are they? https://t.co/2ED2ZWeYTd

Excellent news on that coming very very soon. 👍🏻 https://t.co/uwQ3ErEyyV

What can it possibly be?
Edible crisp packets!
