An advert from the 1990s has gone viral because it’s incredibly cringeworthy

The history of advertising is littered with commercials so bad they were kind of good – like Malcolm asking for his “second-class ticket to Dottidgham” with a bunged-up nose, or the crazed woman throwing Shake’n’Vac all over the house. An ad for a hands-free device has recently resurfaced and people can’t believe how bad it is – or how naff the product looks.

Someone called Sara Valentine shared it on Twitter.

Her post went viral, with over 90,000 retweets and around 2000 reactions, including these.

Some people were most interested in the video content.

Others were more surprised by the product.

But a couple of wise people pointed out that we may not have come as far as we think.
