Someone challenged Brian Cox to sum up all of science in 2 minutes so he did this
It started when something called the Atheist Republic summed up the bible in a 2 minute video.
The entire story of the bible in a nutshell. pic.twitter.com/a9zz8Z3Fw0

Someone saw it and wondered if Prof Brian Cox could do the same with science.
Kudos for filling two minutes.
I'd like to see @ProfBrianCox condense the history of science into the same duration.

And he had a good go, not in a 2 minute video but a single tweet.
No experiment can tell us whether we are moving. The speed of light is a universal constant. Things fall at the same rate under gravity. There are atoms and they emit light of particular colours. The nucleus of an atom sometimes decays into a different element. That’s it really. https://t.co/xWu5Bf1vmu
— Brian Cox (@ProfBrianCox) November 6, 2018
Yep, we think that just about covers it (AKA we have no idea what we’re talking about).
He even took the time for a few questions which is why he’s our second favourite big brain (behind Attenborough, obviously).
dont you mean two object move together at the same rate under gravity?
— Steven Baker (@notacunningplan) November 6, 2018
No. If you drop two objects from the top of a building (neglecting air resistance) they accelerate at the same rate – independent of their mass.

Atoms combine to make compounds. The right assemblage of compounds can become self aware and invent punk rock. I think you missed some rather interesting emergent properties.
— Andy North (@elnorte77) November 6, 2018
I’ve missed out quite a lot to be honest.
— Brian Cox (@ProfBrianCox) November 6, 2018
The 'emergent' bit seriously matters. A possible failing of physicists. Down with mechanical reductionism!
— Andy North (@elnorte77) November 6, 2018
I agree ! I’m not entirely serious in my attempt to condense the whole history of science into a tweet 🙂
— Brian Cox (@ProfBrianCox) November 6, 2018
Are you brushing dark matter under the carpet?
— Tim Worrall (@Timworrall) November 6, 2018
You can’t brush it – it doesn’t interact strongly with the brush
— Brian Cox (@ProfBrianCox) November 6, 2018
Brian if light has a speed, does darkness also have a speed when light diminishes? Curious.
— Albert Ross (@car37Lon2cas) November 6, 2018
Yes.
— Brian Cox (@ProfBrianCox) November 6, 2018
I'll regret this, but I'm going to disagree on that one.
— sceptic tank (@ptrlyons) November 6, 2018
If you turn the Sun off, the sky won’t go dark for 8 minutes.
— Brian Cox (@ProfBrianCox) November 6, 2018
Talking of which …
Yeah, but can you do it on a wet and windy night in Stoke, Brian?
— Jeanna Louise Skinner is NaNoWriMo-ing (@JeannaLStars) November 6, 2018
Stoke is practically the riviera for people from Oldham.
