Simon McCoy announcing Pippa Middleton’s baby news is simply joyous

Newsreader Simon McCoy has something of a cult following because of his underwhelmed attitude to certain news items. With today’s announcement that Pippa Middleton, younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, has given birth to her first child, Simon’s self-control was stretched beyond its limits – and we love him all the more for it.

Clearly both amused and bemused by the item, he can be seen laughing as he reads from the notes:

It says here, “has given birth to a baby”.

Because it’s wonderful, let’s take another look at how he reported the wait for the birth of Prince George.

We’re really looking forward to the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby, just so we can see how he announces it.
