The Guardian suggested men dress like this at the airport but it’ll never take off

We haven’t had time to process the terrible advice Trinny and Susannah dished out about interview clothing back in the day, so it may be too soon to try and get our heads around more fashion tips, yet here we are – looking back at the Guardian telling men to wear shorts at the airport – and this is only from March of this year.

If it were to make the Customs search easier, we could probably understand – if not actually endorse – the advice, but it’s supposedly to get your holiday started earlier. Why not go the whole hog and rock up at Heathrow in nothing but a pair of shorts, flip-flops and an inflatable swim-ring?

Brace yourself. This is what the Guardian stylist suggested men should wear as they fly off for a sunny break.

Here he is rocking the “4-year-old dressed by his mum after watching Miami Vice” look.

Nothing says “stylish” quite like sports socks with sandals.

He probably shouldn’t wear those £695 boots on the beach.
