This is the worst juxtaposition of an advert and a tragic news story you will see

It’s important whether you are in newspapers, TV or online that you are careful not to run inappropriate adverts next to a sensitive news story.

And this is why.

The bulletin on the Irish language news channel reported on the death of Swiss tourist Elvira Ferrari, who died after the caravan she was staying in blew off a cliff in Galway.

So much so, in fact …

The Irish TV channel has since apologised for their error. This is what they said.

‘The ident is one of a series of six idents, running since 2013, which are auto scheduled.

‘The ident broadcast once yesterday, and was immediately removed from the schedule.

‘TG4 sincerely apologise for the unfortunate scheduling of this ident and any undue stress caused.’
