Is this the most offensive dish ever?
Someone posted this picture of beans on toast on Instagram, as shared by @pandamoanimum. Except it’s not beans on toast is it, and for some people that’s the problem. A big problem.
Someone I follow on Instagram posted this picture of their lunch and now I’m pretty sure that they’re a psychopath. pic.twitter.com/0HRWHfT6DM

And here is how people reacted online.
1.
Or, just British. Are they British?
— Karin Robinson (@karinjr) September 12, 2018
2.
Yes. But I’m British and know it should be beans ON toast not beans AND toast.
— Amanda (@Pandamoanimum) September 12, 2018
3.
OK, but bear with me: what if you put the beans on a plate to microwave them while the toast is toasting?
But don’t go by me. I’m British by naturalisation, but I hate beans.

4.
Who microwaves beans on a plate? You microwave beans in a bowl!

5.
All this talk about microwaving beans has caused my British hubby to roll his eyes 😛

6.
I am British and microwaving beans is perfectly acceptable. You can even buy baked beans in microwaveable pots!
— Amanda (@Pandamoanimum) September 12, 2018
7.
But you must not. Buy them in a tin, cook them in a pan. Don’t let them boil. Butter the toast, leave one piece whole and diagonally slice the other. Place the diagonals either side of the whole. A light grating of mature cheddar on top. Add black pepper but no salt. My pleasure.

Stops the toast getting soggy (I like it soggy but I learnt this is a popular choice when I worked in a cafe)

9.
But…but…sort of the whole point is that the toast goes soggy.
