Donald Trump has a conspiracy theory and these are the only replies you need
As the US bears the brunt of Hurricane Florence, Donald Trump shared a conspiracy theory on Twitter about the time Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico last year.
You remember, the one when his response was criticised as wholly inadequate, and left 2,975 people dead according to the government’s own records.
3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000…

And who was to blame?
…..This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!

Fake news, in other words, a phrase you might have heard once or twice before. And here are the only responses you need.

I know there's a lot of competition but this is the worst thing he's ever tweeted. https://t.co/szjPKKxzhK

Call me reckless and crazy, but I'm gonna go with the researched report from the George Washington University School of Public Health and not the undocumented, self-absorbed ravetweets of a man who has uttered 5,000 empirical falsehoods since taking public office 20 months ago. https://t.co/onn5yf1ql9

He’s turned 3000 actual deaths, mourned by many thousands more, into a conspiracy theory. He’s the only President whose words after a tragedy make grief worse. And 35% of big grown up adults in America still support him. https://t.co/xXNLSs40Ao

You owe 3,000 families in Puerto Rico an apology. Stop the shameful attack on deceased fellow Americans and focus on the response to Hurricane Florence. https://t.co/poOE0RDJId

6.
To be clear: The President of the United States is denying a factual, months-long effort, done carefully to estimate the number of Americans who died in PR above baseline — and fully expects his supporters to believe him.
It's an important moment. https://t.co/9ltI6FZKWk— Glenn Thrush (@GlennThrush) September 13, 2018
