BBC presenter Rachael Bland has died and this is one of the many, many tributes that have been paid
BBC presenter Rachael Bland has died at the age of 40, almost two years after being diagnosed with breast cancer, her family has announced.
Our beautiful, courageous Rachael died peacefully this morning surrounded by her close family. We are crushed but she would want me to thank everyone who took an interest in her story or sent messages of support. You’ll never know how much they meant to her. Her death came two days after she revealed doctors had given her only days to live.
In the words of the legendary Frank S – I’m afraid the time has come my friends. And suddenly. I’m told I’ve only got days. It’s very surreal. Thank you so much for all the support I’ve received. Debs and lozz will continue with the #youmebigc podcast. Au revoir my friends. 💋💋 pic.twitter.com/DhMurbqMJz

And of all the many, many tributes that have been paid were these words on a London Underground board shared yesterday by her BBC colleague, Rachel Burden.
It’s one of the more unusual places for a tribute to appear, but also one of the most beautifully put.

Whoever authored this should be identified and praised. A beautiful tribute to an appalling plight.
