NBC announced Sen. McCain’s death before cutting to something highly inappropriate – 16 bemused responses

Newsreaders have a special solemn voice they use for death announcements, particularly if the deceased is a statesperson or beloved celebrity. When NBC announced the passing of Senator John McCain, they got the voice right, they got the words right, but then they returned to scheduled programming.

They didn’t get that right.
