This guy slagged off the BBC and it’s the best self-own you’ll see this week
Here’s a chap called Tony who’s got a beef with the BBC after the Manchester shooting at the weekend that left 10 people in hospital.
Tony’s since deleted the tweet but as you can probably see it included a link to this story on, er, the BBC News website. Which prompted these entirely reasonable (and satisfying) replies.
1.
Man accuses BBC of not covering a story by including a link to the BBC. https://t.co/LVoskPcCwo

2.
You’ve won twitter today, Tony. This is the daftest thing I’ve seen in some time.

3.
this is brilliantly post-factual, note the link to an actual BBC article https://t.co/Pa8OBLzrJG

4.
You’ve just linked the BBC story, you plum.

It’s gammon o’clock (or seven minutes past gammon)

Did you vote for Brexit by any chance Tony 😂😂😂

7.
Oh yes. That was an easy decision to make.

“Why aren’t you covering this story I found on your website” is my favourite genre of BBC bias complaint. pic.twitter.com/9NDKxvmk52

Tony noticed his account was getting more interest than usual.
@LaoTzu5 Never in my twitter history have so many retweeted so much so often! pic.twitter.com/HlZTlMzZrS

@LaoTzu5 And still more! pic.twitter.com/FkDJDovM1K

All I did was criticise and look how many people poked their noses in! pic.twitter.com/o9osSY3gJC

And in the interest of balance and all that.
You tweeted at 7:07 asking why the BBC wasn’t covering a story, but included a link to the story that the BBC was covering at 7:07?
— Michael Glasper (@michaelglasper) August 12, 2018
But #bbcbreakfast weren’t covering it at 7.07
— Tony (@calder_anthony) August 12, 2018
Tony, you illustrate your point by posting a link to a BBC article. And we covered it throughout @BBCBreakfast, with a reporter live on the scene at 8 o’clock https://t.co/fySJZVim28

To conclude …
Either complete cognitive dissonance or VERY subtle irony https://t.co/sFeBGHMmgf
