Nadine Dorries called James O’Brien sexist and these 13 responses make a very good point
Tory MP Nadine Dorries has been blasted for many things over the years, including appearing on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out! of Here whilst Parliament was still in session, claiming too much in expenses and overseeing policies which make life difficult for people living with disabilities.
She has also been an outspoken supporter of Brexit, suggesting that worries about the repercussions of leaving without a deal are simply scaremongering. Which is probably why LBC presenter James O’Brien said this.
Eventually, ‘No Deal’ Brexit’s going to come down to a question of who you trust more. The massive majority of people who have spent decades running our infrastructure, our institutions, our businesses & our services? Or Nadine Dorries?

She wasn’t happy and had some strong accusations to level against her critic.
If you want to know what an obsessive, sexist, bully who deliberately tweets in order to whip up a mob against one woman looks like- it’s this man, employed by @LBC I’m a back bencher, not the PM or even a minister Just a woman with a right to voice an opinion amongst many men. https://t.co/Lbh07VwIAt

This reaction didn’t go down well and she received a great many comments questioning her reasoning, including these 13.
1.
You are not “just a woman”. You are a member of Parliament who has voted for the UK to leave the EU and yet repeatedly failed to explain what you are going to put in its place. Journalists are supposed to hold you accountable. @mrjamesob is doing that. /1

Nadine, @mrjamesob's behaviour is based not on your sex, but on your repeated misleading of the public over Brexit. He is doing his job as a journalist, whilst you are failing in yours as an MP. You should be ashamed of claiming sexism where you know full well none exists. https://t.co/uelZU6gege

It really grinds my gears when folks like Nadine here cry sexism when they get called out on bullshit. You're not 'fighting the good fight' Nadine, you're undermining actual sexism. You get called out so much because you're thick as shit, not because you're a woman. https://t.co/7bCmycL7UB

It's not about sexism, Nadine. nor about your right to voice your opinion, but the opinion itself. If someone does want to voice an opinion, then they should be prepared to defend it, because as JFK once said, the ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. https://t.co/tlSc0E3onu

Her complaint embarrasses me, actually. She hasn’t been treated any different to anyone else who constantly speaks Brexit nonsense. She has taken potshots at James and now she can’t hack it. Her complaint does a disservice to women who are *really bullied and face *real sexism.

You're not "just a woman", Nadine, you're a Member of Parliament. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and give the job to a woman who can. https://t.co/bErEMie0de

Aren’t you the MP (so not “just” anything) who campaigned and voted for us to leave the Customs Union, then had to ask what the Customs Union is?
