Steve Bannon was on Nigel Farage’s LBC show but it was his off-air comment that got the attention
Former Donald Trump advisor and the generally all-round loathsome Steve Bannon was a guest on Nigel Farage’s LBC show.
Bannon said, among other things, that the jailed far-right activist Tommy Robinson should be released from jail, saying the EDL founder wasn’t a ‘bad guy’.
But it was his off-air comment, shared by the station’s political editor, that really caught people’s attention.
Bannon to me off-air: "Fuck you. Don't you fucking say you're calling me out. You fucking liberal elite. Tommy Robinson is the backbone of this country."

Didn’t tell you anything you didn’t know about the man but still, good to see it aired in public.
Here’s what people made of it online.
The world feels so much scarier for my children and so many others with these monsters around. With such poisonous and dangerous filth to trot out should he even be on air? https://t.co/oEGIxnlddf

I repeat: when Robinson gets out of jail, megadollars from the US right will try to boost a real Trumpoid alt-right movement. Get ready. https://t.co/1Jgdcycm0Z

Just FYI, as a Bannon-appointed member of the liberal elite I am going home for brunch of smashed avocado and poached eggs.
And there will be no snowflake tears. x https://t.co/yAEik2c6IT

And lots of people wondered, what’s Bannon being interviewed on LBC (and ITV’s Good Morning Britain) in the first place.
Steve Bannon is currently being interviewed by Farage on LBC. He just called Tommy Robinson “a good man”. There are good people at LBC – at some point they have to decide whether they want to be associated with a broadcaster that proudly serves as a megaphone for the far-right.

Might be an idea if Bannon and his fascist filth were kept out of it. https://t.co/bIafowGY12

Don't give him a fucking platform then https://t.co/aTKN32yZ49

Sorry, LBC how is one far right politician interviewing another far right politician compatible with Ofcom rules on broadcasting impartialityhttps://t.co/HKjE6ESwM2

To conclude …
Calm morning here in Leicester Square: Steve Bannon told LBC's political editor to fuck off, called on Britain to start a war; and perhaps most importantly, prior to the interview, he spritzed himself with Lynx Africa.
