If you wonder why people will miss Eddie Mair, listen to him own Boris Johnson
Eddie Mair is leaving the BBC and lots of people are sad about it.
Not that you won’t be able to hear him on the radio – the former PM presenter will be on LBC from September.
But if you’re wondering why people will miss him, take a few moments to appreciate this. It’s not just a good listen, it’s a great listen, as Mair forensically pulls Boris Johnson’s bullshit to bits (not literally).

The foreign secretary doesn’t appear entirely (at all?) across the Queen’s Speech – maybe he was busy doing something else at the time.
Our favourite bit is when PM presenter Mair tells him:
“It’s not a Two Ronnies sketch – you can’t answer the question before last.”
Love the fact that Eddie Mair clearly sees Boris Johnson for the blustering poltroon he really is, and interviews him accordingly. #bbcpm

Eddie Mair telling Boris Johnson: "It's not a Two Ronnies sketch. You can't just answer the question before last,” is tremendous.

The two have a bit of history of course, Mair once called him a “nasty piece of work”.
Now he’s an ill-informed one.
Good luck, Eddie.
