There was one question everyone was asking about Iceland’s viewing figures for their World Cup opener against Argentina
Iceland’s first ever match in a World Cup finals was an epic 1-1 draw with Argentina and it rated pretty well on TV up there.
How well? This well.
99,6% of all the people watching their TV on Saturday were watching Argentina vs Iceland. True passion. https://t.co/qOTy5PtP1c

And lots of people had the same question which can be neatly summed up by the Times journalist, Oliver Kay.
Here are some of our favourite answers.

We are going to give 0,4% of the nation a benefit of the doubt. There is a slight chance this could have been the situation. pic.twitter.com/L1ayI16vKB

We certainly don’t subscribe to this opinion …
Not like there is anything else going on in Iceland

… but apparently on the other channel (we’re sure there’s more than one) they had this on, so maybe, like the game itself, the competition wasn’t too strong.
No surprise nothing on Icelandic TV when we were there they were showing Champions League repeats on the main channel on a Saturday night
