The Daily Mail forgot to check their facts and the result was hilarious

When Bristolian, Marley Bennett, noticed that he bore a resemblance to the model in the impotence warning on a packet of tobacco, he tweeted a joke about it.

It was pretty funny, so it was widely shared, getting responses from right across Europe. The media noticed the viral post and wanted to know more about his story.

Marley patiently explained that it was just a joke to any reporters who asked, but the Daily mail took it at face value and did this.

He told the Bristol Post,

“I’ve been having a lot of fun but been steering journalists keen to cover the story away from doing so. It seems the Daily Mail don’t care about fact-checking.”

Who’d have thought it?
