A vegan shamed a fellow vegan for buying a child ice cream and people’s response was epic
It all began when someone called @itsallzara tweeted about a good deed she did that day.
Pulled up to my driveway to find a little girl crying, she didn’t have money for the ice cream van like her friends did so I gave her enough money to get herself a nice big ice cream with sauce, sprinkles and a flake. She was so happy (and soon had ice cream round her mouth)

Except, well, not everyone was happy about it. Specifically this chap, who got in touch privately before sharing their exchange publicly to ask what on earth @itsallzara – who is vegan – was doing buying a kid dairy ice cream.
This is how it went.
And here is what he had to say on Twitter.
I usually do not do this, but I feel like this is appropriate to post since this person is claiming to be a vegan even though she admitted to buying non-vegan ice cream for someone else, defended what she did when I spoke with her privately (hoping that would make her less likely pic.twitter.com/uBOSo6qR4m

to be defensive, though I should not have had to worry about that) about it even though I was respectful, and blocked me rather than admitting I was right and that she should not have bought the non-vegan ice cream for that child. To my vegan followers, I know at least those of

you who she is following should be able to send her a private message here. Just in case that is not possible, one of my screenshots shows her Instagram account. I do not want her to be attacked. I just want her to see she was wrong, which I hope enough vegans talking with her

will accomplish. Please let me know if that happens.

And the response from other people on social media was so brilliant it makes you want to go out and buy a load of ice cream (dairy or otherwise …)
1.
full offense, you’re an embarrassment to veganism and we have reduced you to “plant based”
— team nike (@20OZREDBULL) April 29, 2018
2.
No, all of you have been reduced to plant-based, and you are all an embarrassment to veganism.

3.
shut up ugly ass nerd, the V in your profile stands for virgin now

4.
Shut up yourself you ugly ass piece of shit. It stands for vegan, whether you want to see that or not.

time for you to turn that v to a big L

What’s to speak about though? I’m not going to give money to a homeless person with the stipulation they only buy vegan food. That’s the spiteful meme most are trying to fight against.
You win more hearts with compassion and kindess than you do with ruthless fanaticism.— Matthew Ⓥ (@BeerGutBarry) April 29, 2018
9.
Are you serious? You are not an actual vegan if you cannot see what there is to speak about, and she knew full well the little girl was going to buy non-vegan ice cream before giving the little girl money. That is different from generally giving money to a homeless person.
— Anthony Dagher ⓥ (@7AnthonyDagher7) April 29, 2018
10.
It’s really not. You’re putting a restriction on a compassionate action that nullifies the act totally.
Most vegans buy from locations whose primary product is non vegan. Are you saying that supporting those businesses makes them non vegans?
Where is that line?
— Matthew Ⓥ (@BeerGutBarry) April 29, 2018
11.
This is a garbage post.

12.
Only to non-vegans, meaning your post here is the garbage one.
— Anthony Dagher ⓥ (@7AnthonyDagher7) April 29, 2018
13.
So just because you’re vegan means you can’t make a kids day? One ice cream cone isn’t gonna make the world spontaneously combust.
Get a grip Anthony.— David Ⓥ (@VeganGenesis) April 29, 2018
14.
We can make their day *without* harming or killing non-human babies. Get a grip yourself, David.
— Anthony Dagher ⓥ (@7AnthonyDagher7) April 29, 2018
15.
You’re taking all this way too seriously. She was nice and helped a kid out. That’s it. She bought one ice cream cone that was already made.
It’s really such a small thing that you’re blowing out of proportion.— David Ⓥ (@VeganGenesis) April 29, 2018
16.
Would you say that if her choice meant the death of a human, a dog, or a cat? You know I am not taking it too seriously, and it was not a nice way to help. It is not small at all, but you are not an actual vegan, so you do not understand the significance.
— Anthony Dagher ⓥ (@7AnthonyDagher7) April 29, 2018
17.
Dude get over it, it’s just a child and she didn’t mean any harm.
— Laura Grace (@thatgirllaura22) April 29, 2018
18.
You can get over my post. She claims to be a vegan and valued the feelings of a child over the lives of non-human animals. She basically did mean harm by doing that, so I am in the right.
— Anthony Dagher ⓥ (@7AnthonyDagher7) April 29, 2018
Anyway … back to @itsallazara who had this to say.
Looks like we will have to agree to differ. Cornetto, anyone?
To conclude …
