Mike Pence is going to speak at the NRA and our irony-ometer just melted
The National Rifle Association spends its entire existence telling us that the only thing we have to worry about guns is not having one.
Except when US vice president Mike Pence turned up to speak at an NRA conference, this happened …
1. Vice President to speak at National Rifle Association
2. Secret Service start to worry: “Might someone have a gun there?”
3. The @NRA announce that no one is allowed to bring a rifle to the National Rifle Association pic.twitter.com/ZrQtU6WGPq— Jeremy Vine (@theJeremyVine) April 27, 2018
These people nail it pretty well.
So it’s OK to bring guns to Church, school, the mall, the football game etc., but not to the NRA, who claim that “a good guy with a gun is the best deterrent to a bad guy with a gun” – so either they are wrong, or they are not the good guys?

Irony counters start to oscillate wildly, acting as turbines, creating a new type of renewable energy.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those unable to bring their gun to the conference

Surely it would be safer if everyone were armed, as per their usual advice.
