Shania Twain said she would have voted for Trump and Twitter had plenty to say about it
Canadian singer, Shania Twain, gave a comeback interview to The Guardian after a break of 15 years.
If she wanted publicity, she got it, by telling them she would have voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election if she had been eligible. Inevitably, Twitter had a strong opinion.
Some people spotted the ready made joke.
Shania Twain would vote Trump. That don't impress me much…

Rocket scientists may not impress Shania Twain, but apparently white supremacists do.

Other songs were available.
I can’t wait for Shania Twain’s next single “Man I Feel Like a Moron”…

Shania Twain’s new Album will include…
“Man! I feel like a woman but I’m not welcome in the military.”
“You’re still the one with a Tiki Torch.”
“Your MAGA Hat impressed me much.”
“Damn (fill in minority). There goes the neighborhood!”

And it was a good opportunity to throw some extra shade at Trump supporters.
Shania Twain is now apologizing for the ignorance that led her to align herself with Donald Trump. Good for her. Now if only the people who voted for him would do the same.

But not everybody was particularly worried.
Sure we know who Shania Twain would’ve voted for, but I’m waiting to hear from other Canadian singers I haven’t thought about in 15 years before forming my opinion about an election that happened over a year ago.

Then she apologised anyway.
I would like to apologise to anybody I have offended in a recent interview with the Guardian relating to the American President. The question caught me off guard. As a Canadian, I regret answering this unexpected question without giving my response more context (1/4)
