This dad had a very clever way of stopping his kids using his Netflix account
So you know what happens when your kids keep using your Netflix profile and your ‘recommended shows’ ends up full of Power Rangers?
This dad got so sick of it he did this.
Everyone at home kept watching Netflix using my profile. Messed up all my lists and history… so I renamed “Dad” to “Install Windows Updates Now.” Problem solved. pic.twitter.com/33tpvghLCf

Because lists are important, right? Well, this guy thinks so.
It is truely a violation when they do that. My wife started doing that going "I don't think my account works properly … it just feels like it works better on yours".
So I get loads of updates going, "Hey Mike, you probably want to know about Pretty Little Liars". pic.twitter.com/HyqP3fDx0q

It prompted lots of other people to share their tips to stop their children doing similar.
Take it a step further. Create another "dad" account that you never touch. That'll be the decoy.

Another solution… Name your profile "Delete Netflix Account."

Protip: Help your girls choose a cooler icon and they will click it. : )

Change your username to "Pay $19.90". Infallible

Thanks 4 the tip. Just changed mine to "Remove Profile" 🙂

Except not everyone thought it was foolproof.
Very sure Sophie, Emma, Emily, and Mom know that Netflix doesn't do windows updates. 😂

Don’t know about Mike’s household but this trick would actually work on a looooooot of users

And then there’s this timeless classic which probably isn’t fooling anyone anymore …

Except the reply that really got people thinking was this one.
I don’t watch Netflix. I am nerd that watched the documentaries in my daughter’s account. I don’t watch horror. I just Twitter now.I don’t hurt my kids or affect their profile. My husband inhales documentaries now. He tells me what I need to know. I let him talk to feel empowered

I did that for my sister Susan too. She built her confidence up. She forgot that I knew 3/4 of what she was telling me already. I used to print off articles when kids were younger then read them when kids were on the computer. I have read so much that I’ve stoped for a while now.
