How the publisher of NME announced the magazine’s closure after 66 years
NME will publish its final print edition this week after its publisher Time Inc announced that the music magazine, which first appeared in 1952, will go online only.
And this is how it did it.
That’s right fellas, if we don’t put it in the headline, maybe people won’t notice!

People have been paying tribute and sharing memories of the once great mag online and there will be lots more where this came from.

RIP NME. Very sad day. Hate it when magazines close, especially ones so seminal. Thoughts with all its readers and staff #RIPNME

RIP NME. You were like a disgraceful grandad – embarrassing at the end, trying to be down with the kids, terrible taste in music, but a bloody great past to chat about after a few beers.

If the publishers of the NME wanted to put out one final edition, written by those who have served it over the years, I think they would find a ready and capable crew…
