Radio presenter trolled by callers answering ‘India’ is eye-wateringly good

For those of you who haven’t heard this – and even if you have, it rewards repeated listening – some radio gold from Australia where the presenter was swarmed by prank callers to his quiz show.

Have a listen to this. It just gets better, and better, and better.

It’s not so much the callers – well, it is – as much as the reactions of the presenter, a guy called Graeme Gilbert.

By the way how many of you in the room tonight?

Go away and play with your little boys and toys

Didn’t think you were that dumb but clearly I was wrong

Thomas, it’s bedtime now off you go

Marcus, grow up

Wasn’t even clever, mate

Eve, don’t fall for their silly games, okay? you’re much too nice

if you gong to give yourself away by lauding please don’t waste our time, no-one thinks your clever

they’re too going to get their cake this time are they?

Mary, it’s bed time

Please, no more

Oh, Lois I thought you’d grown out of that

You need an education don’t you?

Make that the last time you phone a radio station, Harry

Good luck with your education, at least they manage to string a few words together they’ve been in drama school

We do get bored with these people don’t we?

Barry’s there with the giggles he’s in the same room

If it’s going to be like this shall we cancel the quiz right here?

Stuart? You’re as silly as them

I think he’s one of those down there who came back with two heads

Clarke I do hope you grow up soon

It’s not going to be that sort of night is it?

If you’re going to try and do a comedy act, you’ve got to keep a straight face

if anyone else wants to say India it’s not the answer, don’t ruin it for people who actually want to play

I thought you had a bit more maturity I really did

Tomorrow night we’ll do the quiz at a different time, that will upset them

Michael, you call us back when you mature a little bit

Please, only if you want to play the quiz …

The obvious solution was for him to come up with a question to which the correct answer actually was ‘India’ but we don’t know if he ever did.

Here’s the backstory to how it all started.

“India”
