Scottish gritters have the best names and you can follow them live
You’ll remember when Doncaster Council asked the public to come up with names for its gritters and they chose Gritsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Anti-Slip Machiney and David Plowie.
Well, they might have gone one better in Scotland, where not only do they have puntastic names for all their gritters – they also allow you to watch them as they go about their work – in real time.
just found out that every gritter in scotland has a name like ‘gritty gritty bang bang’ and ‘sir salter scott’ and you can track them live pic.twitter.com/boAVWtvtYi

The live map is very cool, we'll admit. How have they done it? Is it witchcraft?

Can't help but feel they'd run out of inspiration a little by the time they came up with 'Jack'
