Whole of Norway trolls Donald Trump and his “shithole” country
Donald Trump has caused controversy – stick with us, he’s excelled himself this time – by referring to various countries in South America and Africa as “shitholes”.
As in, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”
The so-called president went on to suggest that he’d rather have people from countries like, I dunno, Norway for instance.
.@NBCNews source: As Durbin explained how deal would impact ppl from Haiti, Trump said, "Haiti? Why do we want people from Haiti here?" Then they got Africa. 'Why do we want these people from all these shithole countries here? We should have more people from places like Norway."

And here’s how the internet responded to the idea of people from Norway (recently voted the ‘happiest country on earth’) wanting to come and live in the US.
1.
I live in Norway and would never move to USA. We have health care, free higher education, 5 weeks vacation, 8 hours work a day. No thanks Trump

Trump: "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here? Why not people from Norway?"
Norwegians: "Why would we move to a country with a shithole President?"

3.
Why would people from Norway want to immigrate here? They have actual health care, and longer life expectancy.

4.
@realDonaldTrump no one from Norway wants to come to this shithole country. They have healthcare for all, family leave, free education and real gun control. https://t.co/yL0gmS55Yw

My family came from Norway, and I can tell you that we Norwegians think Trump is a racist "shithole."

6.
Of course people from #Norway would love to move to a country where people are far more likely to be shot, live in poverty, get no healthcare because they’re poor, get no paid parental leave or subsidized daycare and see fewer women in political power. #Shithole

Years ago a #Norwegian colleague moved back to #Norway with his American wife because they were ready to start a family and considered the U.S. too violent and dangerous a place to raise children. #shithole

Norway has universal health care and FORTY-SIX WEEKS of paid parental leave. Why the hell would anyone living there give that up to move here?

In case anyone was wondering how to say "shithole" in Norwegian, these are the headlines in Norway's main newspapers pic.twitter.com/Pa7QcINgtL

It’s not just that racist piece of trash @realDonaldTrump called predominantly black countries “shitholes,” it’s also that he picked Norway as his example of a good country. Norway is massively liberal – so it definitely isn’t about politics. What else is Norway- massively white.

There isn't such a thing as a "shithole country".
There are plenty of "shithole" people in this country though, including a "shithole" illegitimate President.
Norway is White. That doesn't mean their people are better than any other nation on this planet, you racist idiot.

And here are a few more thoughts about Trump’s outburst that people were sharing online today.
13.
To the Nazi's, the purest Aryans were the Nordic people of Germany and Norway. “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries [Haiti and Africa] come here?” Trump exploded today, saying the U.S. should bring more people from countries like Norway. Connection?

The significance is bigger than “shithole.” The president’s supporters are pushing hard for a “merit-based” immigration model, but Trump today didn’t say he wants more doctors, engineers or scientists. He said he wants “Norway.” And Norway is not a skill. https://t.co/XlhW1Z9Kgo
