Wonderful moment former Liverpool goalie Tommy Lawrence, who has died aged 77, was accidentally vox popped in the street by the BBC

This is just a wonderful television moment. RIP Tommy Lawrence, the former Liverpool goalkeeper who died last week aged 77.

It was 2015 and BBC reporter Stuart Flinders was asking people on the street in Liverpool if they remembered the 1967 match at Goodison Park.

Turns out he was actually talking to Tommy Lawrence, who played in goal for Liverpool for over a decade, and appeared in that very game. Such a heartwarming moment.

And here he is (in the middle) in action.

Some people thought maybe the reporter shouldn’t have had to ask his name.

Well, maybe. We’re just glad they had the camera rolling.

But this guy definitely should have recognised this fella.
