Donald Trump doesn’t know what ‘consensual’ means and people made the same very satisfying joke
Here’s Donald Trump getting his big words mixed up on Twitter.
‘Consensual presidency’
We thought he could have managed to get it right because he wasn’t even coming up with the words himself, he was trying – and failing – to quote a columnist from the New York Times.
Okay, a couple things…
1) wtf
2) Actually the majority of Americans didn’t consent to you being president

Breaking: President Trump confirms he does not know the meaning of the word consensual.

Here’s what Trump had to say, in full.
“‘His is turning out to be an enormously consensual presidency. So much so that … there has never been a day that I wished Hillary Clinton were President. Not one. Indeed, as Trump’s accomplishments accumulate, the mere thought of Clinton in the W.H., doubling down on Obama’s … failed policies, washes away any doubts that America made the right choice. This was truly a change election, and the changes Trump is bringing are far-reaching and necessary.’ Thank you Michael Goodwin! (Please read entire column) [email protected]”
And here’s what he meant to say, having deleted his original message.
“His is turning out to be an enormously consequential presidency. So much so that, despite my own frustration over his missteps, there has never been a day when I wished Hillary Clinton were president. Not one. Indeed, as Trump’s accomplishments accumulate, the mere thought of…

Ah, consequential! Now we get it. ‘Enormously consequential.’ No, we’re not sure that’s correct either.
Here’s more of how people reacted, not all of them making the most satisfying joke. Just most of them.
1.
The word in the editorial Trump is quoting was “consequential,” not “consensual.” This is not the first time Trump thought something was consensual when it wasn’t. pic.twitter.com/ykdhvXHEBu

Trump literally not knowing what "consensual" means pretty much says it all. pic.twitter.com/fEURaHe1dk

UPDATE: This was definitely corrected by an aide after Donnie was tucked into bed… not only does it include a link instead of an email address, but it uses the correct "consequential" (not "consensual"), and it's threaded. 0% chance Trump did this.

Yet again, Americans are confronted with evidence that Trump doesn't know what "consensual" means.#consensualpresidency

“Enormously consensual” sounds like a great feminist porn genre but it’s the opposite of the Trump era.

Trump had to delete both tweets tonight. First for consensual vs consequential and second for linking the writer’s email instead of the article. He’s not smart and very sloppy.#stablegenius
