Sean Spicer thinks Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a collection of carols

Feels like the perfect end to the perfect year, from Donald Trump’s former mouthpiece turned James Corden’s best mate, Sean Spicer.

You can tell why Trump rated him so highly.

It’s Franklin Roosevelt’s copy of A Christmas Carol which is on display in the White House. Spicer posted the picture on his Instagram account, captioned “FDR’s book of Christmas carols.”

Here’s what they made of it on Twitter.

Spicer eventually realised what he’d done, but by then it still wasn’t quite right, as they pointed out on Instagram.

emmabarhoumi@hanalovesemma FUCK HE CHANGED IT 5 MIN AGO

chrisbroadwell For everyone wondering, 3 days is the amount of time it took for him to edit the caption.
democrat_politicsUhhhhhhhhh

yasminezara Not only are you dumb, but you can’t even make fun of yourself! You’re even more pathetic than we thought. Dude, there are screenshots of your phone former caption! You are so used to lying about the obvious that you think we are going to notice?

actualpuke HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HE CHANGED IT 23 MINUTES AGO

missjtothek You edited this. Ha.

ryanimp It’s still wrong. It should be Dickens’ – not Dicken’s.

Some people suggested it wasn’t actually Sean Spicer’s account.

But guess what?

We’ve known for a while now that you just can’t make this stuff up.
