Donald Trump makes ‘Pocahontos’ joke to Native American veterans
It takes a brave person to suggest we’ve hit peak Trump but, well, make your own minds up.
The so-called president made a racial joke about Native Americans during a White House ceremony honouring Navajo veterans of the second world war.

“Pocahontas” is how he derisively refers to his political opponent, Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren.

And here’s what someone who clearly knows more about these things than Trump had to say about it.
Tom Udall, vice chair of the Committee on Indian Affairs: “The days when the President of the U.S. was held as a moral authority around the world were over 11 months ago, but at what should have been a solemn ceremony to honor Native veterans, Donald Trump took low even lower.” pic.twitter.com/M62hT3Lk3s

Oh, and see that portrait they’re standing in front of? That’s Andrew Jackson, the 7th president of the United States, who signed the Indian Removal Act allowing white settlers to drive Native Americans off their fertile farmlands.

Trump's racist "Pocahontas" ramblings make more sense if you slow down his speech and just pretend that he's your drunk uncle Kevin. pic.twitter.com/sbtmNBaJap
