A big wooden penis has mysteriously appeared on an Austrian mountain
A large wooden nob has been erected on top of a mountain in south-western Austria, and nobody seems to know why.
The timber dong is to be found at the top of the 6,211 ft mountain the Ötscher – it was first spotted yesterday and shared with the caption “I think the ötscher has a new “mascot”.
Kurier reports (with the help of Google translate) that the “boss” of the mountain, Andreas Buder, is baffled by it – “Marketing gag or an artful gift to nature? We do not know.”
Perhaps it’s related to the Finnish pastime called “leirikyrpä” (camp cock) – when people go camping they pass the time around the fire by carving a lumber length.
