Parents feed their children ‘Scooby Snacks’ – not realising they are a dog biscuit

Easy mistake to make, right? Well, maybe. Dozens of parents have unintentionally fed their children dog food after mistaking a dog biscuit called ‘Scooby Snacks’ for a children’s treat.

The confusion occurred when the dog biscuits were put next to the children’s snack in a supermarket, reports a New Zealand newspaper.

Here’s what some of the parents were saying on Facebook.

“I wondered why my boy didn’t like the taste of them.”

“I got these today not knowing they were dog food [and] tried giving one to my one year old. Lucky he wasn’t hungry and I ended up eating one and spitting it back out followed by reading the packet more.”

“I was absolutely mortified when I gave them to my daughter. She took one bite and said, ‘this is rubbish’. I looked at the packet closely and gasped, ‘Oh no, I am so sorry. I just fed you dog food’.”

One woman said she’d eaten two packets and they “tasted pretty good to be honest”, reports the newspaper.

Here’s more from the New Zealand Herald.

There was one upside, however. Apparently the children’s hair has never been so smooth and glossy.
