Nasa asked people to help name seven new planets. The answers are out of this world

Much excitement greeted the news that a new solar system had been discovered that could actually support life.

Nasa identified seven Earth-sized planets orbiting a dwarf star, TRAPPIST-1. And at 40 light years away – 235 trillion miles – it’s (relatively) close to our own.

But it wasn’t half as exciting as when Nasa asked the internet for help in naming these seven new planets.

Twitter was so excited it went into orbit.
