Piers Morgan pulls out of hosting TV awards after “campaign” against him. World feels 1% better
Full-time Donald Trump apologist and part-time breakfast TV presenter Piers Morgan has pulled out of hosting a TV awards ceremony after a backlash from telly types who disagreed with his support for the American president (among lots of other stuff).
Proof that popular protest can affect real change, although admittedly there are more profound causes than the black-tie Royal Television Society Awards.
Anyway, here’s Morgan’s statement, together with some commentary with which we can all wholeheartedly agree.
